Wildland fire consumes 15 acres in Embarrass

August 8 – An afternoon wildland fire consumed about 15 acres and destroyed about two dozen hay bales in the Embarrass area. The fire was reported around 1:30 in the 7500 block of the Sauna Road. Firefighters from Embarrass, Babbitt, Pike-Sandy-Britt, Minnesota DNR, and U.S. Forest Service were involved in fighting the blaze. No structures were lost and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Track vehicles were used in fighting the fire. A bulldozer played a key role in breaking up the burning hay bales.
The fire consumed about 15 acres along the 7500 block of the Sauna Road in Embarrass.
Resources from three rural fire departments, Minnesota DNR, and U.S. Forest Service were involved in battling the wildland fire.
