Ely area honors fallen firefighter/first responder

July 19 – Emergency vehicles from the Ely area participated in a procession through the city in honor of 27 year old William Fearn, a member of the Morse-Fall Lake Fire Department. Fearn died July 17, the result of a single vehicle accident in the 2100 block of Grant McMahan Boulevard/County Road 88 in Morse Township. According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, Fearn was the driver and only occupant of his pick-up truck when the vehicle went off the road, into a ditch, and struck a power pole.
