September 15 – The Virginia Fire Department and Virginia Police Department have announced that a house fire on Sunday, September 13 was arson. The fire was reported around 8:50 a.m. in the 100 block of 6th Street South. Arriving Virginia firefighters found smoke coming from the main floor of the house. A small fire was discovered on the main floor and quickly extinguished. Eveleth and Mountain Iron firefighters also responded. No injuries were reported.
