June 22-A late afternoon fire destroyed a vacant house in Vermilion Lake Township and damaged a nearby former trailer house. The blaze was reported around 4:45 p.m. on the Wiseman Road. The house was already engulfed in flames when crews arrived. The Vermilion Lake, Pike-Sandy-Britt, Embarrass, and Tower fire departments were dispatched to the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
