Kinney-Great Scott Seeks Patches for Special Volunteer

September 23, 2008 — The Kinney-Great Scott Fire Department has a special person that its members would like to honor. 25 year old Blaine Swan of Virginia is very passionate about public service, especially the fire service. He has a disability which prevents him from participating in active firefighting. However, Blaine spends time at the Kinney-Great Scott Fire Department by helping out with chores at the fire station. To acknowledge his dedication to the fire department, members are purchasing a jacket with the department's logo. Fire departments in the region are being asked to donate their department patch, which will be sewn on the jacket. Donated patches can be sent to:
