DHS Begins Awarding Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG)
June 15, 2008 — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has started to award funding through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. The Brevator Fire Department was one of the first in the Arrowhead Region to receive a grant. The grant was just over $65,000 for the purchase of a new brush truck. The Department of Homeland Security will be announcing grants throughout the summer and fall. A number of fire departments in the region have applied for funding through the program.
