Million Dollar House Fire in Duluth

March 3, 2008 — Duluth firefighters battled a large house fire in the Woodland area of the city. The house, located on the 2700 block of Woodland Avenue, is considered a total loss. The blaze, which was reported around 2:45 p.m., apparently began in the basement near the furnace. One person, who was home at the time, was able to get out safely. Firefighters spent around 12 hours at the scene. The house was valued at one million dollars and is owned by a local doctor. No injuries were reported. The investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
