Hibbing Firefighters Fight House Fire in Sub-zero Temperatures

January 21, 2008 — Hibbing firefighters were called to a house fire shortly before 9:00 at 3825 12th Avenue East. The blaze began in the basement and then spread throughout the house. Homeowner Roger Pogorels, his wife and two children were home at the time. He suffered minor burns to his hands while his wife was treated for minor frostbite. No firefighters were injured. The Keewatin Fire Department provided a Rapid Intervention Team. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but is not believed to be suspicious.
