Bob Brown, President Elect of MSFCA
January 1, 2008 — Throughout his long and distinguished career in the Minnesota fire service Chisholm Fire Chief Bob Brown has held a number of titles and positions. Today, he is President-Elect of the Minnesota State Fire Chiefs' Association and in January, he will be the association's President. Bob has spent nearly 25 years in the Chisholm department, 15 as fire chief. In his new endeavor, Bob will be in the unique position of representing all of Minnesota's fire chiefs and he will be in the forefront of many important fire service related issues. "I am humbled and honored to be here," said Brown. "I have many challenges ahead of me and I am grateful to be holding this position." Brown told The Northland Fire Wire that the recruitment and retention of firefighters is a major priority. "We need to address this problem as many smaller departments across the state are facing critical shortages of firefighters. This is a problem that needs to be addressed at all levels." Brown admits that he will need a lot of help as he moves ahead in his new position. "I am always willing to listen to the concerns of our state's fire departments," he added.
