Grand Rapids Chief Steps Down: Replacement Named

December 20, 2007 — Grand Rapids Fire Chief Dale Rosier has resigned from his position, effective December 31. Rosier told the Fire Wire that he recently received a promotion at the Grand Rapids State Bank, which would limit his time with the department and the fire chief's position. Rosier, who has been chief for the last three years, will remain with the department as a firefighter. Meanwhile, First Assistant Chief Steve Flaherty has been named as his replacement.
