Arrowhead Departments Receive AFG Grants

October 15, 2007 — Ten fire departments in northeastern Minnesota are receiving funding through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program. The departments include:

Brevator: $112,000 - Operations and Safety

Kabetogama: $76,171 - Operations and Safety

Brimson: $142,500 - Vehicle Acquisition

Kelsey: $29,456 - Operations and Safety

Carlton: $70,797 - Operations and Safety

Lakeland: $98,800 - Operations and Safety

Cook: $29,179 - Operations and Safety

Lakewood: $8,645 - Operations and Safety

Hoyt Lakes: $82,779 - Operations and Safety

Normanna: $187,701 - Vehicle Acquisition

So far this year, the Department of Homeland Security has presented 89 grant awards to Minnesota fire departments, totaling over $7.1 million.
