House Fire in Chisholm: Smoke Detector Awakens Occupant
September 1, 2007 — Firefighters from Chisholm were called to an early morning structure fire at 109 South Central Avenue. The lone occupant in the house was awakened by a smoke detector and found the house filling with smoke. Chisholm Fire Chief Bob Brown said the fire was basically contained to the room of origin with some extension into the roof area. No injuries were reported. The Hibbing Fire Department provided a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT). The cause is under investigation by the Chisholm Fire Department, Chisholm Police Department and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office.
