Mobile Home Fire Kills Hibbing Woman
March 8, 2007 — A Hibbing woman was killed when a fire swept through her mobile home. 66 year old Darlene Massingill was pronounced dead at the scene. Hibbing firefighters were dispatched to 12337 Townline Road around 5:15 p.m. Arriving firefighters saw no smoke or flames coming from the home. Heavy smoke conditions were found once firefighters entered the house. According to Hibbing Fire Marshal Jim Iammateo, the fire had likely snuffed itself out. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, although it is being ruled accidental.
