New Fire Wire Webmaster
August 1, 2006 — The Northland Fire Wire website has a new webmaster. Carl Samuelson of Samuelson Consulting Group, Inc. in Pequot Lakes was recently hired to manage the site. "When the website was founded several years ago, I wanted a site that was up to date with the latest information for the firefighters' of the Arrowhead Region," said Fire Wire Editor Peter Makowski. "I wanted late breaking news about incidents along with information that can assist our area's fire personnel. With Carl on board, I can say that the website is where I have always envisioned it. We have reached our goal!" According to Makowski, he hopes some day to manage the website himself, with a lot of coaching from Carl. "Carl is a true professional who really understands what the Fire Wire is all about. He is self directed and knows what has to be done to make this a great site. He came along at just the right time, at a time when I really wanted to push the site forward."
Makowski was also highly complimentary of Dennis Jerrold, who got the website started. "Denny is a great person who really helped me a lot. I want to wish him well as the Vice President and General Manager of WEVE Radio," said Makowski. "Denny's abilities have always amazed me. I am very grateful for all of his work with this."
As always, Makowski says he is looking for articles and pictures for the website and for the Fire Wire publication. "Right now, the website will not replace the Fire Wire publication. I see the website as just another way to get information out to our firefighters."
