Sen. Franken Announces That He Will Join Fire Services Caucus

August 3, 2011 — Today, U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) announced that he will join the bipartisan Congressional Fire Services Caucus, which unites Republicans and Democrats in support of fire service legislation that benefits all first responders. The caucus includes members of both houses of Congress, including U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) and U.S. Reps. Michele Bachmann and Erik Paulsen (R-Minn.).

"Minnesota's firefighters work hard and risk their lives every day to protect lives, homes, and businesses all over the state," said Sen. Franken. "I'm happy to announce that I'll be joining the Congressional Fire Services Caucus where I'll be fighting for funding and legislation that will allow Minnesota's firefighters and other first responders to continue to provide the essential protections Minnesotans deserve."
