Mt. Iron American Legion Damaged
February 9, 2011 — Mountain Iron firefighters were dispatched to the American Legion building in Mountain Iron around 6:00 p.m. after receiving a report of smoke in the attic of the building (5748 Mountain Avenue). The fire, which started near an electrical fixture in the attic, was quickly contained. Damages were in the thousands of dollars. The Eveleth Fire Department provided a Rapid Intervention Team at the scene. No injuries were reported.
