Duluth Auto Body Business Destroyed

December 27, 2010 — An early morning fire destroyed the Peerless Auto Body business in the Lincoln Park area of Duluth. Duluth firefighters were dispatched around 2:45 a.m. to 2831West Superior Street and found heavy smoke billowing from two story, nearly 40,000 square foot building. Damages were estimated around $100,000 to the building and 30 vehicles were lost. Firefighters were hampered by two frozen hydrants in the area. A 25 year old man has been charged in connection with the fire. The man is accused of burglarizing the business and then accidentally starting a fire in one of the vehicles.
