I-Falls Fire Death Ruled Natural Causes

December 28, 2010 — International Falls fire officials say the man found dead at a hotel fire died from natural causes. The body of 70 year old Runo Korpi was found in a room in the Budget Inn Hotel in International Falls. An autopsy showed that Korpi had died from a medical condition. International Falls firefighters were called to the hotel at 3:40 a.m. A cigarette was discovered as the cause of the blaze. Fourteen quests at the hotel were displaced and were found shelter through the American Red Cross.
