Memorial Service Set in Grand Rapids
August 14, 2010 — The Grand Rapids Area 4th Degree Knights of Columbus will once again host a non-denominational service to honor all of the area's emergency services personnel. The event will begin on Saturday, September 11 at 1:30 p.m. with an emergency vehicle procession from the Itasca County Fairgrounds to St. Joseph's Church. The service will begin at the church at 2:00 p.m.
Those wishing to participate in the event are asked to call Grand Rapids Fire Chief Steve Flaherty (218-780-6705) for fire departments, Kevin McNichols (218-326-0020) for EMS, and Itasca County Sheriff Pat Medure (218-326-3477) for law enforcement participation. Event organizers are asking for RSVP's by Tuesday, September 7. Refreshments and fellowship are planned for after the service.
