Fire Damages Duluth AmeriPride Building
August 7, 2010 — Damages are estimated at around $500,000 after a late morning fire at the AmeriPride Building, located on Duluth's Airpark Boulevard. The blaze was called in shortly before 11:00 a.m. Arriving Duluth fire crews had to ventilate the huge warehouse building in order to alleviate possible backdraft conditions. One Duluth firefighter was hospitalized after complaining of chest pains. Thirty two firefighters were involved in fighting the blaze including firefighters from the Minnesota Air National Guard The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
