St. Louis County Board Adopts Resolution on ARMER: Action Clears the Way to Begin Transition to 800 MHZ Trunking System
December 1, 2009 — The St. Louis County Board, on a unanimous vote of seven to zero, adopted a resolution pertaining to the State of Minnesota's ARMER System. The resolution directs county officials to "enter into a participation plan" for transitioning to the ARMER System. It also says that the county's participation is "contingent upon receipt of significant funding support" from the State of Minnesota and other sources.
On October 26, the St. Louis County Communications Department recommended that the county and its 180+ public safety agencies transition to the ARMER System (see previous article on website). The county currently operates a VHF radio system.
