Eveleth House Extensively Damaged
November 19, 2009 — Eveleth and Fayal Township firefighters were dispatched to a report of a house fire at 1109 Douglas Avenue in Eveleth. The fire was reported just before 6:00 p.m. Arriving firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the two story house. The basement and main floor had extensive fire and smoke damage while the upstairs area had smoke damage. No injuries were reported but a family dog perished in the fire. The Mountain Iron and Gilbert fire department were called in for assistance. The fire may have started from an electrical problem.
