Emergency Services Task Force Formed in Duluth
October 26, 2009 — The Duluth City Council has taken action to put together an Emergency Services Task Force. According to WDIO-TV, the five person group will look at ways of improving emergency services in the community and one of the group's tasks will be the possibility that the Duluth Fire Department provide ambulance services to area residents. The vote was five to three while councilor Jim Stauber, who is employed by Gold Cross Ambulance abstained. Currently, ambulance services in Duluth, Superior, Douglas County, Wisconsin and a major part of southern St. Louis County are provided by Gold Cross.
