Stardust Bar Fire Ruled Electrical
October 11, 2009 — The fire which heavily damaged the Stardust Bar, 2325 1st Avenue in Hibbing, started as a result of an electrical problem. According to Hibbing Fire Marshal Jim Iammatteo, the cause of the fire was traced to the overloading of circuits. The determination was made following an investigation conducted by Iammatteo, a representative of the owner's insurance company and an electrical engineer hired by the insurance company. The fire was reported around 10:55 a.m. on Sunday, October 11. The blaze burned for several hours. No one was injured. The fire was fought by crews from Hibbing Fire Department while the Chisholm Fire Department provided a Rapid Intervention Team (RIT).
