Fire Wire's Newest Staff Member

January 1, 2006 — The Northland Fire Wire is proud to announce that Mike Zadra of Virginia has been brought on board to assist in the production of The Northland Fire Wire and The Northland Fire Wire website. Mike will be handling some of the photo and videography operations at Fire/Rescue Communications of Northeastern Minnesota. According to Fire/Rescue Communications President Peter Makowski, Mike is a very avid fire buff who just loves the fire service. "Mike will be an excellent addition to our team," said Makowski. "It is my hope that he will eventually be a very key player in our video operation, which is just getting underway." Fire/Rescue Communications plans to develop a series of training videos featuring fire departments and EMS operations in the region. "We had been planning to do this for a long time," said Makowski. "We just had to wait for the right person to come along and I think Mike is that person."

One of Mike's chief responsibilities will be fire scene photography and videography. "Mike will be responding to many of the fire calls and EMS incidents in the area," added Makowski. "Our hope is to build a video library, which can be used to augment our training videos. Another goal is a fire department public relations piece, which would appear through the local cable TV systems. This video would promote the region's fire departments and the important role that they play in the community."

Fire/Rescue Communications wants to work in cooperation with area public safety organizations and training facilities. The development of the video production operation is just one part of the Fire/Rescue Communications' family. Fire/Rescue Communications is based out of Virginia, Minnesota.
