September 30 – An estimated crowd of 4,000 showed up at the State Capitol in St. Paul for the dedication of the Minnesota Fallen Firefighters Memorial. Hundreds of firefighters from throughout the state attended the ceremony. The memorial honors the more than 200 Minnesota firefighters who have died in the line of duty. Those who attended the event called it “impressive.”
